Information on the return of batteries in accordance with Section 18 of the German Battery Act (BattG):

 

meteocontrol GmbH is obliged to inform users of the following in accordance with the Germany Battery Act in connection with the sale and distribution of batteries or rechargeable batteries, or with the supply of equipment containing batteries or rechargeable batteries:

 

Batteries may not be disposed of in household waste. As end consumers, users are legally obliged to return used batteries. Users can return batteries free of charge after use at the point of sale or in the immediate vicinity of the point of sale (e.g. in municipal collection centers or to retailers). Users also have the option of returning batteries by post. Users can contact their installation company to take batteries back.

Batteries or rechargeable batteries that contain pollutants are marked with the symbol of a crossed-out wheeled bin. The chemical name of the harmful substance is given near the refuse bin symbol.

Explanation: Cd stands for cadmium, Pb for lead, and Hg for mercury.
